IBM announced it will hire near 2000 people in France to work on blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and IoT, reported Le Monde on May 23.
Virginia Rometty, IBM chief executive, announced the news in an interview with Le Monde. She also expressed that IBM was currently working in collaboration with Crédit Mutuel, Orange Bank, Generali, France’s national railway system and Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH), without mentioning exactly what the new additions will be working on.
She expressed during the interview,
“In the next two years, we will hire 1,800 people in France at IBM. In January, we announced a project to recruit 400 people for research. These jobs will include AI, blockchain … and the Internet of Things.”
This is the latest news concerning blockchain for IBM as it announced last week that it was partnering with Veridium Labs to tokenize carbon credit with blockchain on the Stellar blockchain.
At the beginning of May, IBM with the collaboration of a consortium of banks conducted the first live pilot transaction.
